CCT Goals and Ambitions

The main goal of CharACTers Children's Theatre (CCT) is to expose children to the magic of theatre, both as audience members and participants. CCT is dedicated to providing our community with quality family theatre for both the audience and the actors.
CCT is also a great educational tool. Children who participate in a CCT production will learn about music, theatre, and art. They will also learn the values of teamwork. Our Director and instructors will help develop creativity, self-expression, confidence, and self discipline.
CharACTers Children's Theatre is an equal opportunity program. Every child is given the same performance opportunity for every production. We want every child who participates in our productions to feel like the "star" that they are.
In May 2012, CharACTers kicked off the new branch of CCT with the production of Disney's Winnie the Pooh KIDS! Performances were held May 10th, 11th, and 12th. In March 2013, we will hold auditions for Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr.

CCT KIDS Performance and Competition Team
In September 2012, CCT introduced a new performance troupe. Students take weekly classes to develop their skills in all aspects of musical theater. The new CCT Performance Troupe will perform in competitions including the National Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, GA, local events and festivals, and make an annual trip to Orlando, Florida to perform. We're even planning a New York City trip for 2013-2014!
“So many kids across the country are being given the opportunity to perform in Atlanta and New York in front of Broadway agents,” says Santana McKinney, current CCT Director and Dreamcatchers Performance Troupe Instructor.
We want to show the world just how talented our kids are as well, and give them the same opportunities.
The award winning Dreamcatchers Performance Troupe, an all-girl musical theater group, has previously served as the performance troupe for CharACTers. The Dreamcatchers Performance Troupe, along with many other CharACTers performers, traveled in June 2012 to Orlando for their debut at Walt Disney World.
