Join CharACTers, Inc. in Spreading the Magic that is Theatre!
CharACTers, Inc. is a non-profit corporation created to provide opportunity and education to the youth and adults of our community through quality theatrical productions in Northeast Alabama.
We are currently gearing up to start our seventh spectacular season. 2015 is going to be the biggest year for CharACTers yet and we want you to be a part of it!
Your help is needed in acquiring much-needed equipment and furnishings such as lighting, costumes, sound equipment, the construction of the set, and other items necessary for a live production. The cost of this project is too great for one organization; therefore, we will be able to accomplish this goal through partnerships.
As you may be aware, theatre can be beneficial for the youth of our community and their families in many ways: by developing their self confidence and imaginations, teaching them the techniques of drama and dance, motivating them to learn about their community and become more involved citizens.
We have worked with organizations, such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, many times to provide their patrons with such opportunities. Through your contribution to CharACTers, Inc., you are also able to invest in our children’s futures.
Some of the most vital lessons our children need can never be taught in a classroom. There is a world of possibilities for any child out there. Think about words like innovation, imagination, and inspiration. These are ways of thinking, and of problem-solving. They are the types of smarts that people need to find to know what they are good at; what they are happiest doing; and perhaps, to become true leaders.
All of these grow out of enrichment beyond the basic essentials in traditional education. When you see graffiti, or a vandalized building, you are looking at the work of someone who needed to express themselves. There aren't enough good outlets for our youth, and the truth is, far too many of them never get a chance to experience the ones that are out there. CharACTers wants to change that! 2015 will be a year of continued support of arts education by CharACTers through a new scholarship that will be given to a high school senior this spring. A portion of your contribution will help to make this scholorship an annual event!
CharACTers isn't just an outlet for children and teenagers, but adults too. With more than 500 performers annually, CharACTers has literally touched the lives of thousands of people who want to use their talents to bring joy and entertainment to our community. It is never too late to step into the spotlight and feel the rush of an audience’s applause as you take your final bow.
People who can think in terms of the arts know a lot more than just music, acting, and dancing. They know how to speak a universal language. They know how to look at the whole composition of a problem, with its people, and its numbers, with its good things, and its bad. Most of all, they know how to find or create beauty when it is needed. When we lose our connection with the arts, we become cynical. We lose the ability to say who we are, and what our lives and our world are all about.
CharACTers strives to encourage tourism to Gadsden and work towards making our town the arts hub of Northeast Alabama. Through passionate support of local businesses and encouraging tourism to Etowah County, CharACTers helps to create thousands of dollars in local revenue. CharACTers is dedicated to arts education, enrichment and improving our local community.
CharACTers, Inc. offers advertising and promotional opportunities, which are positive public relations for your company in our community. We offer varying levels of sponsorship, which we would be glad to discuss with you at your convenience.
